Visakhapatnam: Pravin Kumar assumed office as new district collector, from N. Yuvaraj, here on Monday. Mr Yuvaraj is being relieved from state services to join Central services at Delhi.
Mr Pravin Kumar was GVMC commissioner before joining as district collector.
Immediately after assuming the office Pravin Kumar held a meeting with the senior officials of the all government departments.
Talking to reporters, Mr Pravin Kumar said that he will strive hard for the overall development of Vizag on the path laid by outgoing district collector N. Yuvaraj, as a team leader.
Mr Pravin Kumar said that with his experience of working in the district since a few years as joint collector and the GVMC commissioner, he would work to live up to the expectations of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and the goals set by him as part of Vision 2029 and 2050.
The new district collector also said that as a team the district administration will work to make Vizag top among all the other districts in the state and also a best smart city in the country. He observed that if better education and health care is provided the Agency area can also be developed on par with the other regions.
