Mysuru royal wedding: Couple to perform 53 rituals
Mysuru: The Mysuru Palace, which has turned into a fortress for the royal wedding , reverberated to the sound of poojas and rituals on Saturday as the Wadiyar clan gathered to bless the young scion of the family, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar and his soon- to- be bride, Trishikha Kumari.
The couple, who arrived in Mysuru on Friday night, will participate in a series of 53 pre-wedding rituals stretching across three days. On Saturday they performed rituals separately at two different venues at the palace in the presence of Mrs Pramodadevi Wadiyar, Mr Yaduveer’s biological parents, sisters of the late Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar, Trishika Kumari’s parents and a few close relatives.
The 21 rituals performed during the day included the Sandhyavandane, Ganapati and Chamundeswari poojas, udaka shanthi, hari seva and kankana dharane.
