Thiruvananthapuram: While veteran CPM leader V S Achuthanandan was conspicuous by his absence, opposition UDF boycotted the first anniversary celebrations of the LDF Government on Thursday. Sources close to the veteran leader said he kept off the function as the organisers had not given a formal invitation and had left two entry passes meant for legislators at this office.
The organisers failed to give due recognition for his Cabinet rank or his stature as the senior most leader of the ruling part. The opposition UDF had boycotted the function terming the first year of the Pinarayi Vijayan government as a big failure.
