Coimbatore: Initiative to empower women engineers launched

WE aims to nurture 600 women software engineers from across India in the next three years.

Coimbatore: Implemented by ‘TalentSprint’ in collaboration with Google, the Women Engineers programme (WE) aims to nurture 600 women software engineers from across India in the next three years.

As part of the initiative, deserving talented engineering students from different socioeconomic backgrounds will be identified through a detailed selection process and groomed through a rigorous multi-step training programme.

Selected candidates will be supported with 100 per cent scholarship and annual stipends of Rs one lakh each. Speaking about the collaboration and the initiative, Dr Santanu Paul, co-founder and CEO at ‘TalentSprint’, said “The history of computing is replete with evidence that women bring a unique sensibility and refinement to the craft of software programming. Our goal will be to unleash that capability for the benefit of both Google and industry.
