THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan has promised that if LDF came to power it would wipe out blade mafia in the state.
He said apart from decimating blade mafia, the LDF would take steps to grant loans to the Self Help Groups including those run by organisations like SNDP. Such SHGs would be given direct loans based on the interest rates fixed by the government and banks.
Achuthanandan said that some people had brought to his notice, the propaganda launched by a section of SNDP leaders and RSS workers on the social networking sites against the LDF. They are spreading lies that if LDF came to power it would put SNDP workers behind the bars and shut down micro finance schemes being run by SNDP, he added.
The opposition leader said a section of SNDP and RSS workers were also conducting a door to door campaign on the issue with vested political interests. “Under the garb of micro finance scheme, Vellapally Natesan, his family members and his accomplices had resorted to big fraud. If he had any commitment towards the community he would not have looted his own people charging such high interest rates for loans. I have registered a case against him to ensure justice to the people who have been defrauded,” he said in his FB post.
