Mangaluru: Three laborers died due to a landslip at a construction site in Sullia of Dakshina Kannada district on Saturday. The three were identified as Somashekhar Reddy, his wife Shanthavva, and Chandrappa.
All three were working on the construction of a retaining wall at a residence owned by Abubakar in Gurumpu of Sullia taluk when the landslide occurred, trapping them in the soil. Few other laborers were able to escape the incident unharmed.
The three victims were taken to hospital but could not be saved.
Somashekhar Reddy's brother has filed a complaint with the Sullia police against the house owner Abubakar, Engineer Vijay Kumar, and superviser Nagaraj, alleging negligence.
A case under IPC Section 304(A) has been registered based on the complaint.
The laborers killed hailed from Gadag district.
