Citizens snap wires from traffic signal control box
Hyderabad: Hyderabadis who are always known for breaking the traffic laws have surprisingly disconnected the wires at Control box of traffic signals near SR Nagar Community Hall with the aim to stop the functioning of the signals at the junction.
According to the cops from SR Nagar, some local people who do not want to wait for long time at the signal, habituated to chaotic traffic, are playing mischief by removing the wires.
SR Nagar sub-inspector of traffic, P. Naresh and head-constable Chinna Rayudu noticed that SR Nagar community hall traffic signal has been damaged by unknown culprits after which a complaint was made to traffic Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) control.
Based on the complaint by the cops, BEL technician came to the signal point and repaired the signal after which the signal is functioning properly from March 10.
But despite the immediate repair of the signal, it was noticed by the cops that the traffic signal had again gone out of order on March 11 itself. They came to know that some unknown persons again damaged the panel board and other equipment due to which traffic signals were not functioning from March 11.
V.S. Ramalinga Raju, traffic inspector of SR Nagar, has lodged a complaint with the SR Nagar law and order police and got a case registered under section 427 IPC. Traffic officials also requested the officials to get the signals rectified and make it functional.
