KOZHIKODE: The gunman of Azhikode legislator K.M. Shaji was suspended for obstructing a team of policemen and misbehaving with them. Shajimon was travelling on his bike when he confronted police coming from Kozhikode rural on March 11 at Velliyoor, near Perambra. The cops had complained to Kuttiady CI and the Rural SP had submitted a report on the same.
Though the report was forwarded by North zone DGP, no action was taken for over a week since Mr Shajimon was working under special branch security. An order was released by SP Security A. Akbar on March 20 suspending him on disciplinary grounds. According to the letter, it was stated that he obstructed cops on duty, using filthy language. He had committed grave indiscipline and misbehaviour by hindering cops who were on urgent law and order duty.
