KCR unfurls tricolour at Pragathi Bhavan, offers tributes at Army War Memorial
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao unfurled the National Flag at Pragathi Bhavan and paid tribute to martyred soldiers on the occasion of 74th Republic Day celebrations here on Thursday.
Rao garlanded the portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr B.R. Ambedkar and paid tributes to them. He recalled their yeomen services to the nation.
Later, the Chief Minister visited the Army War Memorial in Secunderabad and paid floral tributes to soldiers.
Ministers Vemula Prashant Reddy, Satyavathi Rathore, Chamakura Mallareddy, MLCs Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, Naveen Rao, Shambhipur Raju, Madhusudhana Chari, chief secretary Santhi Kumari, DGP Anjani Kumar, CMO senior officers, staff and many public representatives participated in the programme.
Telangana High Court Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan participated in the celebrations held at the High Court. The Chief Justice said that the drafting committee of the Constituent Assembly, led by Dr Ambedkar had after several rounds of intense debate and discussion drafted the most democratic, vibrant, progressive and all-inclusive constitution having 395 articles. This was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on November 26, 1949, and came into force on January 26, 1950.
“Our objective is to ensure accessibility to justice for each and every one. The efficacy of the judicial system is to a great extent measured by how pendency and arrears of cases are tackled. But for the positive response from the members of the bar and the diligent efforts of the members of the Registry, we could not have achieved success both in the administrative sphere and in the disposal of cases," the Chief Justice said after unfurling the National Flag.
The High Court’s recruitment process for filling up vacancies in the cadre of civil judges (junior division) is nearing completion. Since starting to fill vacancies in the district judiciary last March, we have filled up 592 vacancies in various categories across the State.
In the High Court, out of 779 additional posts in various cadres being sanctioned by the government, promotions have been effected to the High Court staff. Around 77 personal secretaries to judges/court masters and 84 typists and copyists have been recruited, he pointed out.
Republic Day celebrations were held at the Director General of Police (DGP) office with additional DGP Sivadhar Reddy hoisting the tricolour. It was celebrated on an enthusiastic note in all three police commissionerates-- Hyderabad, Rachakonda, and Cyberabad.
