Ensure police recruitment board follows HC orders, Youth Cong urges Governer

Hyderabad: Youth Congress leaders on Wednesday sought Governor Tamilasai Soudararajan’s intervention in the issue of aspiring police personnel, some of whom were arrested from Gandhi Bhavan along with NSUI leaders for holding a
demonstration earlier in the day.

State president of Youth Congress K. Shivasena Reddy and others submitted a
representation to the governor and brought to her notice the ‘irregularities’ by TS Level Police Recruitment Board (TSLPRB).

“Over six lakh youngsters appeared for the constable preliminary test and two lakh cleared the exam. Unfortunately, four aspirants died during the tests while 16 died by suicide fearing failure to make the grade. Several others sustained injuries during long jump and sprint practice sessions. We urge you to direct TSLPRB to implement high court orders during the recruitment process,” he urged.
