Tension Prevails as Police Refrained from Entering Sangam Dairy

Vijayawada: Tension prevailed for some time at Sangam Dairy in Vadlamudi village of Chebrolu mandal in Guntur district on Friday after police tried to enter the dairy premises and security personnel prevented them from doing so.

The Sangam staff maintained that their officers had not permitted them to allow police from entering the dairy.

Incidentally, a case had been registered on November 15, against Telugu Desam leader Dhulipalla Narendra and 14 others for assaulting a few dairy farmers when the latter went to the dairy and demanded their dues. Following this, the farmers registered a complaint.

Circle inspector M. Rambabu said a team of Chebrolu police tried to enter the dairy on Friday for an investigation into the assault case. They had received information that a few accused were hiding inside the dairy. However, security and other personnel of the dairy obstructed them from entering. An argument took place between the police and dairy employees.

Dairy employees asked whether the police have a court warrant for entering into the dairy. Police maintained that there is no need for any warrant for an inquiry. But when dairy staff continued to refuse entry, police returned from the dairy.
