Errabelli convoy driver, SM chief killed in mishap

Three other staff members including gunmen and personal assistants were severely injured.

Warangal: Two personal staff members of panchayati raj minister, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, were killed in a road mishap on Saturday midnight after the car they were travelling in lost control and turned turtle.

Three other staff members including gunmen and personal assistants were severely injured. The minister was travelling in another car ahead of the ill-fated car.

The accident took place while the convoy was returning to Palakurthy from Hyderabad near Chee-turu of Lingala Ghanpur mandal in Jangaon district. Responding immediately, the other members of the convoy pulled out the injured from the overturned car and shifted them to Jangaon Area Hospital.

According to police, the car driver Ch. Parthasarathy (42) and social media in-charge Poornender Tangellapally (27), who was sitting in the front seat beside the driver, sustained fatal injuries and died while undergoing treatment.

Three others, gunman Naresh, P.A. Shiva and attender, Thatha Rao, sustained injuries.

Thatha Rao, who was severely injured, has been shifted to a private hospital in Hyderabad.

The other others have been discharged from the hospital after treatment. Dayakar Rao was visibly shaken after the mishap. He broke down as he looked at the dead bodies of his staff. He remained in the hospital through the night and consoled the bereaved family members.

His wife Usha also joined him later. He assured them that they would be taken care of by the state government.

The driver, Partha-sarathy, has been AR constable since 1998.

He has been working with Errabelli Dayakar Rao for four years now. He is survived by wife, Pavani, son, Shesha Kaushik, and daughter, Srimana. They reside in Sadashiva colony of Gopalapuram in Hanamkonda. His final rites were conducted on Sunday evening.
