EP Jayarajan falls in line, attends meet
Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretariat on Thursday discussed issues related to demonetisation and the crisis in cooperative sector besides the charges of indiscipline against E. P. Jayarajan. Putting to rest all speculations Jayarajan attended the secretariat meeting at the AKG Centre. The former minister had walked out of the last secretariat meeting that decided to recommend M. M. Mani for Cabinet berth. The state leadership had directed him to take part in the meeting on Thursday.
Jayarajan had also kept off Mani’s swearing in ceremony to express his resentment against the decision. Though, later, the central committee member clarified that he had not opposed Mani’s elevation, damage had already been done. The Kannur strongman had also not attended the recent state committee meeting and remained absent from the special session of Assembly which passed a resolution against centre’s ‘conspiracy’ to destroy cooperative sector. A section of party leaders believe that these instances clearly hinted violation of organisational decision.
