Brothers of Muhammed Nisham seek to withdraw complaint, police says no
Thrissur: The two bothers of Muhammed Nisham, the convict in the Chandrabose murder case, withdrew their complaint against him soon after Anthikkad police registered a case on Monday morning against Nisham for threatening them over phone. However, the police said that the registered cases could not be withdrawn as they had conducted an inquiry and found evidence on the threat calls made by Nisham while he was taken by cops from Kannur to Bangalore on the night of October 20 in connection with an attempted murder case.
DySP K.A. Suresh Babu of special branch, who is investigating the complaint of Nisham's brothers, Adakkaparambil Abdul Rasak and Abdul Nisar, told DC that it was found in his inquiry that Nisham had made calls from the phones of his manager and assistant manager who accompanied him to Bangalore. It is learnt from sources that the brothers said in the letter submitted to the Rural SP on Sunday that they were withdrawing the complaint as several of their close relatives were against it.
Chandrabose’s wife seeks probe on phone calls
Jamanthi, wife of deceased security worker Chandrabose, has urged Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to order a probe into the phone calls made by the murder accused businessman Muhammed Nisham while in prison. Jamanthi's relatives called on the chief minister here on Monday and handed over a representation of Jamanthi expressing concerns that Nisham would go to any extent to get a favourable judgment in the murder case. She alleged that Nisham was threatening her family as well as others with the connivance of prison officials. Nisham is having a comfortable stay at the prison, she alleged. The chief minister who assured necessary actions also assured protection to her and family.
