KTR lays stone for bridges across Musi

HYDERABAD: Reiterating his continued focus on creating massive infrastructure in the city and its surroundings, municipal minister K.T. Rama Rao on Monday laid foundation stone for five bridges across river Musi and a high-level bridge connecting Peerzadiguda and Fathullaguda near Uppal.

The four-lane bridges will bear an aesthetic appeal that will match the best of iconic bridges in European cities.

The bridges will come up at Manchirevula, Uppal Bhagayat and Pratap Singaram and two at the proposed Budvel IT park.

“Around 45 per cent of the state’s revenue is generated in Hyderabad. People will live happily if basic amenities like power, drinking water and law and order are ensured,” said Rao. The government has completed several projects and the people should support leaders and the government, which have been working for their welfare and development of the state, he added.

The state government will construct 15 bridges across river Musi at different locations in the city at an estimated cost of Rs 545 crore, of which Rs 52 core will be earmarked for the Fathullaguda bridge, he said.

The minister opined that these bridges would be the next preferred location for moviemakers after Durgam Cheruvu. They will improve road connectivity and add beauty to the region, he said.

The high-level bridge will connect the central ground water board to important areas like Boduppal, Peerzadiguda, Uppal and the Warangal national highway.
