Hyderabad: Chairman of the Wakf Board, Mohammed Saleem, has asked the Inspector and Auditors (IAs) to be vigilant about encroachments on Wakf lands and to submit detailed reports of the acquisition of Wakf lands and compensation awarded, in their respective districts. Mr Saleem was reviewing the functioning of Board officials working in the districts, on Tuesday.
He instructed the officials to act swiftly to check encroachment on Wakf lands and immediately lodge criminal cases against the land grabbers and initiate action under section 54 of the Wakf Act. He advised the IAs to update revenue records pertaining to lands that belonged to the Wakf Board.
