Hyderabad: Headmaster removed over TC scandal
Hyderabad: Headmaster of Rajbhavan School, Mr R. Suman was removed from his services on Tuesday after some of the parents confirmed that their children were given Transfer Certificates (TCs) forcefully because of the ‘poor’ academic performance, in an investigation carried out by the School Education Department.
According to the investigation report, it is observed that the headmaster of the school tried to detain 25 students in June and July in class nine because of poor performance. Among them, 15 parents not willing for detention but took TCs because they were asked to do so.
Some other parents have cited that migration and distance from the school and shifting to private schools as reasons for their TCs, according to education department officials.
Now as a disciplinary measure, the HM of Rajbhavan school Mr R. Suman has been removed as Fully Additional Charge Headmaster (FAC HM) and Mrs. V.A.S. Karunasree, Gazetted Headmaster for Essamiabazaar Government School has been posted here as FAC HM. She would be performing duties full time at Rajbhavan.
Further the HM was issued a charge memo by the Regional Joint Director of School Education (RJDSE) to show the cause of his action.
The students were also given a choice to re-join in the school if they wanted to and the school was ordered to re-admit them depending on the students' preference. It might be mentioned here that while the headmaster was removed from his charge as FAC HM of Rajbhavan but his other positions would continue, one of which is the Headmaster for Begumpet Government High School.
