Hyderabad: Principal secretary of municipal administration and urban development, Arvind Kumar, warned the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials over footpath encroachments, particularly by government agencies.
He said that zonal commissioners would be personally held responsible for any case of violation and show cause notices would be issued.
As per sources in GHMC, Mr Kumar sent a WhatsApp message to zonal commissioners to ensure city footpaths are encroachment free.
He emphasised against footpath encroachments by government agencies like electricity department, HMRL and GHMC. However, he did not issue a deadline.
Mr Kumar is particularly upset that zonal commissioners ignored is previous orders on the subject and took no action.
