Thiruvananthapuram: A girl student of a college entering the men’s hostel is a disaster, according to some people. Therefore, all hell broke loose after a first-year girl student of the College of Fine Arts here, who had her earlier education abroad, went to the men’s hostel during the Onam celebrations. Mr A.S. Sajith, principal, who was told about the incident, warned her, but did not take any further action so as not to hurt her academic career.
But now an unidentified group has unleashed a campaign against the principal by sticking posters against him in the college. The principal made it clear that there was nothing objectionable in the incident and that a section of people was deliberately creating problems by blowing it out of proportion. Sources said that some miscreants were trying to spread falsehood against the girl. The issue was that of cultural difference as she was brought up abroad. In another related incident, the boy friend of the girl who visited her in the college was manhandled by the same set of people, including students.
