PM Liked Jagan's Bi-Lingual Textbook: Pradhan

VISHAKHAPATNAM: Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on Friday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi often praised the “good work” being done by AP Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Speaking at the foundation stone setting ceremony of the Central Tribal University in Vizianagaram district, the Union minister heaping praise on the Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government for imparting education in the mother tongue. “This is a good model and Prime Minister Modi too has appreciated it,” he said.

Pradhan said, “I am congratulating the AP government. They have developed unique books, bilingual books. On one page, the content is in English and on the other page, the content is in Telugu. This is a good model.’’

On the tribal university, Pradhan said it would lead to all-round development of adivasis in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Chhattisgarh, “by also nurturing the cultures and languages of the adivasis while imparting them higher education that include exposure to modern technology.”

Pradhan said the central government would allot Rs 2,000 crore for development of the university in phases. He thanked Jagan Mohan Reddy for acquiring 561 acres of land for the university.
