VISAKHAPATNAM: The death of 16-year-old student Riti Saha from Kolkata, who died here a month ago, was caused by the “negligence of Akash BYJUS and Achiever Junior College,” her parents have alleged.
The parents lodged a complaint of attempted murder by BYJUS and the Vizag police started an investigation.
Police commissioner Trivikram Varma said, “There are four cameras in the hostel. There are six cameras around the hostel. We collected the CCTV footage. Her father said it was an 'attempt to murder' by BYJUS. but no evidence was found.”
The Vizag police sent the CCTV footage to the forensic science laboratory for further investigations. The girl's roommates and watchmen were called for an inquiry.
The police gave a copy of the CCTV footage to Riti Saha’s parents as her parents filed a PIL in the High Court seeking the same.
