BJP starts probe on missing Rs 35 lakh

Funds missing from that for LS polls.

THIRUVANANTHAPRUAM: The BJP is understood to have launched an internal probe into the allegation that general secretary M.T. Ramesh had failed to give accounts of Rs 35 lakh of the Rs 85 lakh given to him for the Lok Sabha polls where he was a candidate from Pathanamthitta. The BJP leader has been accused of not providing proper accounts of Rs 35 lakh spent from the election funds. The allegation comes close on the heels of his name being linked to the medical college bribe issue.

Meanwhile the BJP national leadership is planning to examine the role of certain central leaders in the medical college bribe issue. BJP president Amit Shah reportedly held discussions with national general secretary Bhupendra Yadav in connection with the Kerala issue. The central leadership is expected to hold discussions with Kerala leaders and party in charge of state in the coming days.
