NORKA recruits nurses under VACB scanner

A total of 83 nurses reported for interview against 25 reported vacancies.

Kochi: The NORKA-ROOTS on Sunday conducted recruitment of nurses to Saudi Arabia at a hotel here under the surveillance of the Vigilance sleuths for the first time. A total of 83 nurses reported for interview against 25 reported vacancies. Al Mana Hospital at Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia was the employer. The interview which began at 8 am lasted till 5 pm.

“After the interview, the HR Manager of the hospital said that 80 percent of those who attended will be absorbed in due course,” said NORKA-ROOTS GM Mr Najeeb H. Mr Najeeb said that the next hospital employer from Saudi Arabia will conduct interview for nurses in the first or second week of August.

The recruitment has now been insulated from exploitation by private agencies by entrusting the same with NORKA-ROOTS. The six member police-vigilance team was led by a sub-inspector. “We ourselves called the vigilance team to ensure that everything goes foolproof without doubts of malpractises,” said Najeeb.
