Hyderabad: Despite concern over contents of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Neet) syllabus and the new pattern that students from Telugu states had to deal with, medical aspirants who appeared for Neet-2 on Sunday did not find the test very difficult.
Nearly 87 per cent attendance was registered in the test held in 29 centres across the city. Students turned up as early as 8am although the actual exam timings were 10am to 1 pm.
According to a majority of the candidates, the difficulty level was not so high compared to the recent TS Eamcet-2 and even AP Eamcet. A few questions in Physics and Chemistry tested skills and preparation of candidates but otherwise, the paper was moderate for some. Some candidates said it was easy. Anil Kumar, who wrote Eamcet exams in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states, found Neet-2 paper easier than expected. A girl who got 4,000 plus rank in AP Eamcet said that Neet-2 was easier than the state medical test.
As per the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) directions all schools strictly followed the 9:30am deadline for entry into examination centres. Four students who reached Sarathi School, Habsiguda late were not allowed in the hall.
A majority of the students followed the CBSE directions not to wear jewellery, watches, high heels and shoes. A few women candidates who came wearing ear rings and male candidates who came with tucked-in shirts and belt were asked to remove them.
Though CBSE has finalised Hyderabad and Warangal as test centres in Telangana, candidates preferred Hydera-bad. Due to less registrations, Neet was not conducted at all in Warangal.
City co-ordinator Ms Seetha Kiran said Neet-2 was incident free in Hyderabad. The result of Neet-1 (held on May 1) and Neet-2 will be released on August 17.
