Chennai students find physics paper tough in NEET-2
Chennai: Students have found physics questions in National Eligibility Entrance Test phase 2 exam (NEET-2) tough with questions mainly focused on calculations.
All over the country, more than four lakh students appeared for the exam. In Tamil Nadu, more than 14,000 students wrote the exam in Chennai.
The paper had 180 questions each question containing 4 marks. Each of the physics, chemistry, botany and zoology subjects had 45 questions. The exam also has negative marks as one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
D. Dinesh Raj, a student of Vidya Mandir in Uthangarai said, “Physics paper is tough in this exam.” The state board student even undertook coaching for the entrance exam.” Questions were from plus one syllabus in the state, therefore students found them tough.
Ramasami from Uthiramerur in Kancheepuram district wrote both the exams NEET-1 and NEET-2. He scored 1,154 out of 1,200 marks in plus two exams. “I got 188 cut-offs for MBBS and could not participate in the counselling. Now I want to try to get in through all India quota,” he said.
“Biology and chemistry parts were relatively easier compared to physics which was mainly based on the problems. I have done well but have to wait for the results,” said K. Kavya from Tiruppur. She scored 1,053 in her board exams. She has selected an engineering seat as she did not have the medical cut-off for the state quota.
Aakash Chaudhry, director, Aakash Educational Services Ltd said, “NEET-2 paper was on the lines of NEET-1, conducted in May this year.” He said physics questions were tough and had lengthy calculations. “In chemistry and biology, the questions are standard type. Some questions in chemistry are out of the syllabus and beyond the scope of NCERT books,” he said.
It is mandatory for students aspiring to join under the central government quota and private medical colleges to qualify NEET exam. The central government gave exemption to state government quota seats for this year.
