INTUC bats for workers declaration from Congress

Hyderabad: The Congress will make a declaration for workers on the lines of the ones done for farmers and youth, said Janak Prasad, national secretary of the Indian National Trade Union Congress (Intuc).

Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday, Prasad said, “The workers declaration will benefit 1.2 crore workers engaged in various sectors. This will be done after discussions with the Intuc national president Dr G. Sanjeeva Reddy and TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy.”

He said the issues to be included in the declaration were regularisation of services of contract workers, increase of NREGA workers' work days to 200, schemes to benefit building and construction workers, RTC workers, new pension scheme, and a pay revision commission for workers.”

Those who participated in the meet included Intuc central senior vice-presidents Narasimha Reddy, Tyagarajan and Dharmapuri, central campaign in-charge Vikas Kumar Yadav and secretary Mahesh Babu.
