Cops focus on KP's links with actors, celebrities deny role

HYDERABAD: Cyberabad police, who questioned Kabali Telugu film producer and distributor Sunkara Krishna Prasad Chowdary, alias K.P. Chowdary, in police custody, allegedly obtained his call data and Google drive to establish his drug peddling links.

Police received information that Chowdary, who also operates a club in Goa, allegedly indulged in drug peddling by supplying banned substances to celebrities in the city. Even though the police did not reveal names of celebrities, rumours are rife that actor Ashu Reddy, badminton player Sikki Reddy and others have contacts with Choudary.

Rajendranagar DCP R. Jagadiswar Reddy, who monitored the arrest of Chowdary, said that as he was busy dealing with the case, he would reveal further details later.

Meanwhile, Ashu Reddy and Sikki Reddy's family members clarified that they did not have any role in the drug case, and their names were being propped up to damage their reputation.

Ashu Reddy tweeter, "To whomever concerned, some sections of media are talking of all kinds of falsehoods with regard to her with association to some people. Strongly condemned and will let the relevant people know the truth of matters if it comes to that. Openly posting her mobile number is not tolerated (sic)."

Sikki Reddy's husband responded to the rumours that they have a flat at Snehita Hills and it was gifted by family members. The property is registered in the name of Sikki Reddy.

"A few days ago, Chowdary requested us to allow him to use the flat for four days as it was vacant. As we knew him well, it was given to him," Sumit Reddy said.
