Chennai: Student's body with stab wounds found in CTI campus
Chennai: The Guindy police found a Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) student’s body in a decomposing state inside CTI campus in Guindy Industrial Estate, on Sunday. The deceased student was identified as M. Sivakumar (19) of Guduvancherry.
The boy, a first-year student of Food Processing department in Government Industrial Training Institute, had gone missing from Friday afternoon.
“He was present in class until lunch break and did not return after the break. Sivakumar’s anxious parents filed a complaint on Saturday and man missing case was registered,”the police said.
Meanwhile, at around 5 am on Sunday, the security guard of the CTI campus, abutting the Government Industrial Training Institute, found a body among the bushes near a dilapidated building. The security guard alerted the Guindy police who retrieved the body, which had stab injuries in the neck and chest apart from an impact injury on the head. The body was sent to Government Royapettah Hospital for post-mortem.
The police informed the teachers of the ITI and asked them to identify the deceased person. “As the deceased was identified by a teacher, the police informed parents,”the source said.
“Considering the decomposing rate of the body, the boy would have been murdered on the same day he went missing. As the government ITI and CTI campuses are having tight security, insiders would have committed the crime. An investigation is underway and we are questioning a few suspects,”the police said.
