India to go abroad with books

Foreign ministry to despatch multiple sets of 51 books each-to Indian missions abroad.

New Delhi: India is planning a huge cultural outreach abroad on the occasion of the completion of four years of the Narendra Modi government on May 26. It is understood that the Ministry of External Affairs is likely to soon despatch multiple sets of 51 books each---by various distinguished Indian authors on various issues pertaining to the country--to Indian missions abroad for further circulation to the libraries of premier educational institutions in that country.

Details of the outreach are expected to be unveiled next week when External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj interacts with the media on achievements of her ministry on the completion of four years of the NDA Government’s rule at the Centre. It is understood that the reading material to be made available to students in well-known foreign universities is intended to stimulate interest in India and the country’s achievements besides acquainting foreign students with Indian culture.
