Legal process should be followed: CM Pinarayi Vijayan
KANNUR: Reacting to the Supreme Court reinstating T.P. Senkumar as the police chief, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said the legal process should follow.“I have not received the copy of the court verdict. The government should apply the legal process once it is received,” he said in Kannur. "Our country has a law abiding system, and the rules should be implemented. Supreme Court is the supreme court. When the government set rules for governance, courts look at their legal side.”
He added: “A verdict has come regarding the appointment on the petition of former DGP. The complete details of the judgment have not reached and are expected to get it today. Once it is received, the legal process should be fulfilled.”
Meanwhile, DGP Loknath Behra, who was also in Kannur to attend a meeting of top police officers along with CM, refused to comment. “I am not to comment. It’s all part of the life of government servants,” he quipped.
