APSCHE to move Supreme Court on Rs 15 lakh transfer

Accounts of APSCHE were frozen by the TS government.

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education has decided to file a contempt petition in the Supreme Court of India against State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) for not honoring the SC verdict and releasing Rs 15 lakh to the Telangana State Council for Higher Education.

APSCHE special officer K. Raghunath said that the SC had set aside the earlier order of the Hyderabad High Court freezing the accounts of APSCHE on March 18, 2016. “Accounts of APSCHE were frozen by the TS government. The HC judgment was untenable in law and the freezing of accounts was not correct, the Bench felt,” he said.

He said that the institution had informed the same to the Shanthi Nagar branch of SBH near Masab Tank via registered post on the very next day. “Although the manager received the SC orders, on Thursday he released Rs 15 lakh to TSCHE, which is in contempt of SC orders. We will file a contempt case against the SBH manager on Monday at the Supreme Court,” he said.
