Stray dog menace worsens in Karimnagar

WARANGAL: The stray dog menace is causing panic among the residents with a series of incidents of attacks for the past two days in erstwhile Karimnagar district.

Dogs entered the SC welfare hostel on Tuesday night and attacked students in Shankarapatnam mandal. In another incident, dogs chased and bit a person while he was riding his bike in Veenavanka mandal.

Early on Friday, stray dogs attacked a four-year-old girl while she was playing in front of her house at Konaraopet mandal of Rajanna Sircilla district. The girl was Cherishma (4), daughter of Bolle Isaaq and Rupa. She was playing in front of her house, when, all of a sudden, a group of stray gods attacked her.

Alerted by her screams, the parents came out of the house and saved the girl. She was severely injured on her head and hands. She was taken to a nearby hospital and later to the government main hospital in Karimnagar.

In another incident at Beat Bazaar in the Jagtial town, stray dogs chased a couple astride a bike and attacked them, injuring both. The locals rescued and shifted them to a hospital.
