Republic Day traffic restrictions in Vijayawada today

VIJAYAWADA: NTR Vijayawada police commissioner Kanti Rana Tata has imposed traffic restrictions in Vijayawada city in view of the 74th Republic Day celebrations being organised at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IGMC) Stadium on Thursday.

Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan, ministers and others will be participating in the celebrations at the IGMC on Thursday morning.

The CM will leave his house at Tadepalli at 8:50 a.m. and reach IGMC for attending the RD celebrations. He will thereafter return to Tadepalli. The Chief Minister will also join the Hi-Tea programme hosted by the Governor at Raj Bhavan in Vijayawada at 4:30 p.m.

Traffic restrictions have been imposed on various routes from 7 a.m. to 12 noon on Thursday.

All vehicles from Control Room to Benz Circle will be diverted via RTC Y Junction, Eluru Road, Swarna Palace, Deepthi Centre, Pushpa Hotel, Jammi Chettu Centre, and Siddhartha Junction to reach Benz Circle. Traffic will be allowed from RTC Y Junction to Benz Circle via Bandar Locks, Raghavaiah Park, Old Fire Station Road, American Hospital, Masjid Road, Netaji Bridge, and Screw Bridge to reach Benz Circle.

Commissioner Kanti Rana said from Benz Circle to M.G. Road, vehicles will be diverted via Screw Bridge, Netaji Bridge, and Bus Stand. No vehicle will be allowed from the Red Circle to RTA Junction.

RTC buses from RTC Y Junction to Benz Circle via M.G. Road will not be allowed from 7 a.m. to 12 noon. City ordinary buses from Y junction to Benz Circle via M.G. Road and Route No. 5 will be diverted via Eluru Road towards Ramavarappadu Ring and directed towards Benz Circle.

All heavy and medium transport vehicles from Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam will be diverted at Ibrahimpatnam Ring via G. Konduru, Mylavaram, Nuzvid and Hanuman Junction. Traffic from Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad will follow the same route.

Vehicles from Visakhapatnam to Chennai will be diverted at Hanuman Junction via Gudivada, Pamarru, Avanigadda, Repalle, Bapatla, Chirala, Throvagunta and Ongole. Traffic from Chennai to Visakhapatnam will follow the same route.

Guntur to Visakhapatnam traffic will be diverted at Budampadu via Tenali, Vemuru, Kolluru, Vallaturu Junction, Penumudi Bridge, Avanigadda, Pamarru, Gudivada and Hanuman Junction. Transport vehicles from Chennai to Hyderabad will be diverted at Medarametla via Addanki, Piduguralla, Nadikudi, Miryalaguda, Nalgonda and Narketpalli.
