Vigilance Department Urges Swift Action Against Spurious Drug in Delhi Govt Hospitals

New Delhi: In a crucial development concerning the quality of drugs supplied to Delhi government hospitals, the Special Vigilance Secretary has issued a stern directive to the Health Secretary following a comprehensive report from the Vigilance Department.

The report highlights the alarming presence of spurious drugs in the inventory of government hospitals, which have failed to meet the prescribed norms. In response to this urgent matter, the Special Vigilance Secretary has written to the Health Secretary, urging immediate and decisive action.

In a tweet, the Special Vigilance Secretary emphasized the need for a prompt and aggressive approach. The tweet reads, "On the Vigilance Department's report of spurious drugs in Delhi government hospitals, the Special Vigilance Secretary writes to the Health Secretary to ensure that all such drugs which have failed the prescribed norms should be immediately quantified and seized as per due process of law on war footing and that no further payment is made to such companies and sought the action taken report in next 48 Hours."

The Health Secretary has been given a strict deadline of 48 hours to provide a detailed action taken report, reflecting the measures taken to address the issue and prevent any potential harm to patients relying on these hospitals for their healthcare needs.
