Infra boost to Pulivendula; Jagan launches host of projects

The CM laid the foundation stones and inaugurations of these projects during his visit to Kadapa district on Friday

ANANTAPUR: In a major boost to Pulivendula, the home turf of Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy, the state government has initiated several developmental activities for the region. Jagan laid the foundation stones and inaugurations of these projects during his visit to Kadapa district on Friday.

Expressing his gratitude towards the people of Pulivendula for the blessings they gave his family for decades, Jagan said he is initiating a string of developmental activities and steps for industrial development to ensure more employment opportunities.

He inaugurated a modernized market yard at a cost of Rs 10.5 crore and a shed to store up to 6,000 tonnes of sweet orange fruits that was built at a cost of Rs 4.7 crore. Two new police stations at Peddamudium and Kasinayana, a new bus depot built at a cost of Rs 34 crore were the other projects.

Further development of Silaparam at an expenditure of Rs 13 crore, a sports complex at a cost of Rs 18 crore and a recreation park at Velimela Sarassu with Rs 44 crore are the other projects initiated for Pulivendula area.

The CM said the aqua hub that was inaugurated in Pulivendula, has 100 fish kiosks, along with seafood shops, and 70 such aqua hubs were set up across the state with over 14,000 retail shops.

Jagan had also allotted funds for the underground drainage system in Pulivendula town of the order of Rs 100 crore and Rs 65 crore for a drinking water project to provide freshwater supply to every household in the constituency.

A new model police station in Pulivendula was inaugurated by the chief minister.

Addressing a public meeting after distributing house site pattas to the beneficiaries at Jagananna Housing Colony in Pulivendula, the chief minister said that the colony is being developed on 323 acres at an expenditure of Rs 147 crore; spending Rs 6 lakh on each house. He said the project was delayed due to court cases. After almost a year, house pattas are being given to 8,042 people, the CM said.

Jagan said that all kinds of infrastructure development have
been undertaken in the colony, including government schools, colleges, ward secretariats, parks, playgrounds, roads, drains, and many more.
