Hyderabad: After sister dies on spot, Victoria also loses battle

Victoria, who was also injured in the accident, died while undergoing treatment on Friday.

Hyderabad: Five days after the death of her sister in an accident in Dammaiguda, 14-year-old P. Victoria, who was also injured in the accident, died while undergoing treatment on Friday.

Their elder brother was also injured in the accident. Victoria and her sister Akhila who died earlier were pillion-riding on a scooter their brother Naveen was riding. The bike was hit by an RTC bus coming from the opposite direction.

P. Victoria, 14, was studying in Class VIII while her elder sister was in Class X in the Government High School in Nagaram. On Monday, as their father Koteswar Rao was busy with work, their brother Neveen offered to drop both his sisters at school. The three kids started on their dad’s scooter AP 29AC 548 to school.

When they reached the Dharamkanta in Dammaiguda main road, Naveen tried to overtake an RTC bus and in this process, his vehicle skidded on the road and all the three fell down.

An RTC bus no AP 11Z 7183 from Kushaiguda depot coming from the opposite direction ran over Akhila, killing her on the spot, while the other two sustained severe injuries.

Naveen had his ribs fractured while Victoria suffered injuries on foreahead and in other parts of the body. Victoria died while undergoing treatment, while Naveen is still under treatment.

Naveen, Akhila and Victoria are children of P Koteshwar Rao a painter, and Yesamma. Naveen is studying for Second Intermediate in a private college, while Akhila and Victoria were studying class X and VIII respectively in the Government High school in Nagaram.
