Will set up Chair dedicated to study of Siddaramaheshwara Swami: CM Siddaramaiah

Bagalkot: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has promised to set up a Chair dedicated to the study of Siddaramaheshwara Swami, the Kulaguru of the Bhovi community. The chief minister also assured to appoint a representative of the community to the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC). He made the announcement during the inauguration of the Kuteer of Sharanabasava Appangal, the Kulaguru of the Bhovi community.

"During a discussion, Sri Niranjana Jagadguru Immadi Siddarameshwara Mahaswami emphasized the need for establishing a study chair devoted to study Sri Siddarameshwara Swami, the esteemed Kulaguru of the community. The proposal will be considered for which necessary steps will be taken," Siddaramaiah said.

Earlier, Kannada and Culture Minister Shivaraj Tangadagi has submitted a request to appoint a representative of the community to the KPSC.

The Chief Minister added that the promise to establish a Bhovi Development Corporation has been already fulfilled during his first term as the chief minister.

Reflecting on the historical context, Siddaramaiah highlighted the transformative role of the Sharanas in promoting religious teachings in the vernacular language. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of people understanding Dharma in their own language.

Kannada and Culture Minister Shivaraja Tangadagi acknowledged Siddaramaiah's contributions to the Bhovi community, expressing gratitude on behalf of the entire community. The event was held in the presence of Sri Niranjana Jagadguru Immadi Siddarameshwara Mahaswamiji of Bhovi Gurupeetha.
