HYDERABAD: A division bench of Telangana High Court comprising Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Anil Kumar Jukanti on Friday dismissed a writ petition filed by Chaluvagali Raghavendra Raju, complainant before the returning officer of Mahbubnagar, claiming that minister V. Srinivas Goud had suppressed information pertaining to an FIR registered against him in his election affidavid.

A case was registered in Mahbubnagar Two Town police against Srinivas and a few Central and state officials on the directions of the special court to try criminal cases on MPs and MLAs, in relation to the alleged tampering of Goud’s 2018 election affidavit.

Senior counsel Avinash Desai, standing counsel for the Election Commission of India (ECI) informed the bench that the poll panel had replied to the objections raised by the petitioner. In view of this, there is no need to keep the writ petition pending.
