APNGOs want CM to help cancel CPS

Mr Babu demanded announcement on implementation of OPS in the forthcoming Assembly session in December.

Vijayawada: APNGO Association president P. Ashok Babu demanded implementation of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) and sought Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to put in efforts for cancellation of Contribu-tory Pension Scheme (CPS), with the cooperation of others states.

Following a call by the AP NGOs Association JAC, thousands of government employees, from the 13 districts of AP, joined ‘Chalo Guntur’ protest rally demanding cancellation of the CPS and fulfilling other demands from Venkateswara Vigan Mandir to BR stadium in Guntur on Tuesday.

Mr Babu demanded announcement on implementation of OPS in the forthcoming Assembly session in December. “The CPS will put the employees to loss and so it should be cancelled,” he said.

He also demanded that the services of the contract employees should be regularised. He demanded the MPs to fight for cancellation of the Pension Fund Regulatory Development Authority (PFRDA) Bill in the Parliament.
