Revenue minister E Chandrasekharan yet to study Thomas Chandy report

The government will not act against those who possess land with all legal records.

KOZHIKODE: Revenue minister E. Chandrasekharan is yet to study the report submitted by Alappuzha district collector on the alleged encroachment made by transport minister Thomas Chandy in Marthandam backwaters and the levelling of the paddy field. “I am yet to see the report though it has been received. The content of the report needs to be discussed with the chief minister before recommending any action,” he told reporters here on Monday. He also said that he had no prejudice towards the report.

He did not respond to the query on the report that the CPI had conveyed its dissatisfaction with the arbitrary actions of additional chief secretary P.H. Kurian to the CM directly. “The government will not act against those who possess land with all legal records. But encroachers should be evicted. The government policy is to provide land to the deserving people,” he added.
