Hyderabad: Cab drivers stir against Uber, Ola authorities
Hyderabad: A group of cab drivers on Monday halted services seeking permanent solutions to harassment metted out to them by Ola and Uber managements.
President of the Telangana Cab Drivers and Owners’ Association Mr Shiva Vulkundakar said that due to the harassments, cab drivers were committing suicides. “The unhealthy competition introduced by the managements amongst cab drivers is increasing stress and pressure among the drivers. Drivers who purchased cabs on finances are suffering as there is not much business.
Responding to the protest, Uber’s spokesperson said that the future of Uber’s business depends on making driving with the most attractive choice and it would continue to see sustainable earning opportunities for driver partners.
“We care deeply about the concerns of drivers and communicate with our driver partners daily – through phone support, text and in person at our green light centre and through community-based initiatives like UberSAMAAJ,” the spokesperson said
