Chandrabose murder convict Mohammed Nisham made no calls from prison

Police sources said they would book Shibin, Ratheesh and Nisham for making unauthorised calls

THRISSUR: The rural police probe into the threat calls by Mohammed Nisham, the Chandrabose murder convict, will be restricted to the calls he made from the phone of his manager and assistant manager to two of his siblings on the way from Kannur to Bangalore on the night of October 20 in connection with an attempted murder case. DySP K.A. Suresh Babu of special branch investigating the complaints of his brothers Abdul Razak and Abdul Nisar told DC that he had recorded their statements, his manager Ratheesh and assistant manager Shibin, who accompanied the millionaire during his journey with the cops to Bangalore in a public transport bus.

Police sources said they would book Shibin, Ratheesh and Nisham for making unauthorised calls and submit the inquiry report most probably on Monday. However, in the complaint the brothers filed with Rural SP R. Nishanthini on Friday, they had mentioned two other Airtel numbers other than the Idea Cellular number of Mr Shibin.

Razak and Nisar had said in the complaint that from these two Airtel numbers he had been calling workers of the family-run King Beedi company at Thirunelveli from the block 10 of the Kannur Central Jail besides others related to his business. But sources close to the investigation team said as the brothers have only the recording of the calls made during the Bangalore trip, the inquiry will be limited to that. Jail DGP after inspecting the 10th block on Saturday had said Mr Nisham made no unauthorised call from the prison.
