KOCHI: Members of the Facebook collective who visited Hadia alias Akhila who is being confined to her home at Vaikom after her marriage was nullified, demanded at a press meet on Saturday that her deposition should be recorded and she must be released from confinement and provided medical aid. They also said that they will meet Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan demanding a speedy solution. They demanded that a delegation of MPs/MLAs visit her as she is confined to her home for the last four months and a decision should be taken on the petition they had given in this regard.
They said on visiting her, the girl had shouted through the window that she was being physically manhandled and she should be rescued. They said that this aspect is known to cops guarding the house and neighbours. They said their pleas to the human rights commission and women’s commission were ignored. Those arrested for visiting her, P. Sajna, Mridula Bhavani and Facebook collective members Kunjila and P.K. Jasmin attended the meet.
