Hyderabad: Mosquitoes lay siege to Jalpally
Hyderabad: Mosquitoes are creating a nightmare for the residents of several colonies located in the Jalpally municipality area on the outskirts of the city. The problem, according to the residents, has multiplied several fold following the recent spells of rains. Several areas including Shaheennagar, Sadathnagar, Wadi-e-Mustafa, Wadi-e-Omar and Wadi-e-Huda are plagued by the problem.
“There is nothing like day or night. The problem is 24 x 7 and despite using mosquito repellents the residents have failed to counter the menace,” complains Syed Farhan, a resident of Wadi-e-Omar.
When contacted, Jalpally municipality Commissioner Mohd Saber Ali said that the corporation recently received a JCB machine and a couple of trucks for taking up the cleaning operation.
“The department has about 200 persons taking care of health and sanitation in the municipality. Regular fogging operations are also done,” he said.
