Cambridge University may train APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University students

Employers will also be provided with a free one-click access to a talent pool in various engineering colleges through this website.

Thiruvananthapuram: Cambridge English Language Assessment which is part of Cambridge University would support APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University to enhance the employability of B Tech students. T. K. Arunachalam, regional director-South Asia, Cambridge English Language Assessment said the university would give students of engineering colleges affiliated to the university who take the business English certificate course exams of Cambridge 50 activity points.

However, it would be an optional course for engineering colleges. Business English Certificate of the Cambridge is accepted globally by many leading corporate organisations as proof of having the necessary English language skills needed for work. Cambridge certificates are based on the standards for English as per Common European Framework of Reference for language levels, Mr Arunachalam told DC.

Apart from that Cambridge has also launched a portal www.campustowork.org that provides students with a free platform for positioning themselves before the recruiters. Employers will also be provided with a free one-click access to a talent pool in various engineering colleges through this website. Cambridge also held a seminar for heads of engineering colleges affiliated to the university in Thiruvananthapuram.
