TS devotees arrange langar for Amarnath yatris in J&K

NIZAMABAD: Devotees of Telangana including from Nizamabad and Siddipet districts are providing free breakfast, tea, lunch, evening snacks and dinner to Amarnath yatris at the Baltal base camp and Panchtarni in Jammu and Kashmir.

Under the banner of Amarnath Anna Dana Seva Samiti of Telangana, devotees of Shiva have been maintaining a langar (free food camp) in J&K since 2011 during the Amarnath yatra. They started this year’s camp on July 1 and will continue it till August 31.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle from the Baltal base camp, seva samiti trust member Manchala Gnanender said they are providing free food facilities for 10,000 devotees per day. He underlined that trust members reach the base camp in batches for 15 days service at a time.

“We provide breakfast, tea, lunch, evening snacks and dinner to the Amarnath yatris,” Gnanender disclosed.

Trust members currently serving at the base camp include Sri Laxmi, Ellanki Sudarshan, Ellanki Rajitha, Kummarikunta Ramesh, Chintha Srinivas, Rukmini, Pankaja and Mallikarjun.
