Groom uses bulldozer for procession, driver gets heavy penalty

The JCB is meant for commercial use, but it was used for transportation of people in violation of the Motor Vehicles Act, the police said

Bhopal: A civil engineer’s dream of making his wedding procession a ‘memorable event’ by riding a bulldozer — which is now associated with demolition of houses of rioters — to his bride’s home in a Madhya Pradesh village cost the driver of the digger vehicle dear.

JCB machine driver Ravi Baraskar was on Friday booked for violation of Motor Vehicles Act and fined Rs 5,000, according to Jhallar police station in-charge Deepak Parashar in Betul district.

The JCB is meant for commercial use, but it was used for transportation of people in violation of the Motor Vehicles Act, the police said. The police reacted after a video of the event went viral on social media.

Jaiswal explained his choice of going in a bulldozer in his wedding procession saying that he wanted to make his marriage a memorable event by doing this. “I have developed a fascination for construction machinery since I have been working with them as a civil engineer. That is why I decided to go to my bride’s place in a bulldozer,” he said.
