Dr G: Didn’t order BJP flag removal

The notice reportedly said the flag should be removed as it was hoisted without permission from the gram panchayat.

Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwar on Sunday reportedly got annoyed with a shopkeeper in Tovinakere in Korategere taluk, Tumakuru, for hoisting the BJP flag in front of his shop.

Dr Parameshwar had visited Tovinakere on Saturday to take part in a public contact programme. His entourage was passing via K. N. Ravi's grocery shop on Kestoor Road when the Deputy CM saw the party flag in front of the shop. He was reportedly embarrassed to see the BJP flag where his contact was supposed to commence and reportedly issued instructions to the local authorities to have it removed. Mr Ravi was in for a shock when he received a notice for hoisting the BJP flag in front of his shop. The notice reportedly said the flag should be removed as it was hoisted without permission from the gram panchayat. However, while taking part in a public function in Tumakuru on Sunday, Dr Parameshwar denied demanding that the shopkeeper remove the BJP flag.
