HYDERABAD: The Rachakonda police commissionerate inaugurated five Centre for Development and Empowerment of Women (CDEW) family counselling centres and an outreach van on Tuesday.
Additional DGP, women safety, Shikha Goel, in the presence of Rachakonda police commissioner D.S. Chauhan, inaugurated the CDEW centres in Kushaiguda, Meerpet and Maheshwaram. She said in the future every major subdivision would have a CDEW centre.
By mid-June 15 CDEWs would be functional and women could head there instead of going to the local police station or Bharosa centres.
