Andhra Pradesh's second steel rail bridge at Srikakulam Road

VISAKHAPATNAM: State Legislative Assembly speaker Tammineni Sitaram on Monday announced that the second stainless steel railway bridge in Andhra Pradesh will be coming up at Srikakulam Road Railway Station in Amadalavalasa assembly constituency.

The speaker made the announcement after a meeting with Waltair Railway Division officials led by divisional railway manager Anup Satpathy. Incidentally, Sitaram represents Amadalavalasa in the assembly.

The speaker Sitaram also sought stoppage of eight pairs of long-distance superfast trains at Srikakulam Road station. Satpathy responded saying the demand will be addressed soon.

Regarding construction of a road over bridge, the divisional manager clarified that both Railways and state government will have to bear the cost of ROB’s construction amounting to 42 crore.
